What a fantastic ‘Transition Week’.

What a fantastic week it has been getting to know next years Yr 5 class. The children worked so hard on all the tasks they were given. As it was ‘Refugee Week’ we spent some time discussing what that actually means. The children found out about lots of famous refugee’s such as Mo Farah, Anne Frank, Albert Einstein, Paddington Bear and the most important of all Jesus. We also worked on Yr 5’s gospel value which is PEACE. The children created a fantastic display which can be seen in the school hall. In the afternoon we began looking at our script for next year’s Shakespeare in Schools Festival. The children will be performing ‘A Midsummer’s Night Dream’ at the Old Rep Theatre in November. Very exciting times lie ahead for our new Yr 5 class.

Maths will be handed out on a Thursday and returned following Thursday.

Spellings- Test will be every Thursday

Please use your ‘look, cover, write and check sheets to learn your spellings. Autumn Test 2- Test on Thursday 21st September 2017

English homework will be handed out on a Thursday to be returned the following Thursday.

Year 5 Cast Workshop

Year 5 will be visiting the Old Rep Theatre on Wednesday 27th September to prepare for their performance of A Midsummers Night’s Dream. This will be a morning visit and the children will return in time for lunch.

Shakespeare’s School Festival

Year 5’s performance of a Midsummers Night’s Dream will take place at 7.00pm on Thursday 2nd November at the Old Rep Theatre. Please buy your tickets directly from the theatre as soon as possible. Tickets sell out very quickly.
